Good Employment Week 2026 once again brought together employers, employees and partners from across Greater Manchester for a week of activities designed to champion good employment and explore the role workplace culture plays in creating positive workplaces.
This year, workplace culture was at the centre of the conversation through our "What does your Work Feel Like?" campaign. Throughout the week, the interactive word cloud evolved as more people shared the words that best described their experience of work, helping to build a live picture of how work feels across the city-region.
The campaign supports the ongoing development of the Greater Manchester Good Employment Charter, as we explore how workplace culture can help shape the future of good employment and ensure people feel valued, supported and able to thrive at work. The conversations and learning shared throughout the week further demonstrated the impact workplace culture can have and why this next stage of the Charter's development is so important.
We were delighted to welcome Mayor Bev Craig to open the week, alongside a wide range of speakers, presenters, partners and event organisers who shared their experiences, insights and examples of good employment in action. We'd also like to thank everyone who attended events, engaged with the campaign online, used our social media resources and contributed to the word cloud.
Also taking place during the week was our annual Best Practice Conference, where winners of the 2026 Greater Manchester Good Employment Awards shared the approaches, practices and workplace cultures that helped them achieve success, providing valuable learning and inspiration for employers across Greater Manchester.
To round off the week, we've created a short highlights video showcasing some of the conversations, events and people that made Good Employment Week 2026 such a success.
We encourage everyone to continue the conversation by watching the video and adding their voice to the word cloud. So tell us: What does your Work Feel Like?
